A STATEMENT FROM THE DECATUR PARK DISTRICT CULTURAL ARTS

Children of Eden with performances scheduled for March 20 – 22, 2020 are cancelled in Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic

Out of concern for the health and well-being of all artists, staff, and crew members involved the performances of Children of Eden have been canceled.

TICKET DONATION AND REFUND INFORMATION

The Decatur Park District is committed to providing the utmost flexibility for our patrons in light of these cancellations.

The Decatur Park District is a non-profit institution and relies on both ticket sales and contributed revenue for all operational needs related to our artistic and educational mission. While canceling performances is necessary for the health of our patrons, staff, artists, and volunteers, it creates a significant loss for the institution, making donations more important than ever.

If you are able, we ask that you consider donating the cost of your tickets back to the institution. In return, you will receive a tax deduction, and will sustain our work during this challenging time—and help us prepare for when our doors re-open to our audiences, artists, and community. Ticket holders for Children of Eden performances have the following options:

  • Donate your tickets, and receive a tax deduction for the total ticket value
  • Receive a full refund for the value of the ticket

For all of you that purchased tickets, please contact Jill Applebee at 217-519-3137 or email at japplebee@decparks.com.  She will work through your options.  We urge you to please consider donating the price of your ticket(s) rather than asking for a refund.  This can be used for a tax deduction!  This will allow the Decatur Park District to continue to offer affordable art programs for our community.

However, you can request a refund.  If the ticket was purchased using a credit/debit card, the amount will be refunded back to your card.  If the ticket was paid using cash/check, then you will work with Administrative Staff to be a refunded with a check.

If we do not hear from you by April 17, 2020, we will automatically assume that you need a refund.  PLEASE CONTACT US WHICHEVER WAY YOU CHOOSE, and spread the word to your friends and family who also purchased tickets!

The Decatur Park District ARC may be closed, but its arts and education programs are still alive!  Your gift today will provide vital support for the arts during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
