The Park District’s Youth Baseball & Softball League’s goal is to grow baseball, softball, and t-ball in Decatur, while providing great summer experiences for kids of all ages. Registration deadline March 26 Practice begins mid-April. Opening Day is May 6. Important Note
Register anytime at the DISC, or online (decatur-parks.org). For on-site registrations, parent or guardian must accompany youth, and a birth certificate copy is required for first-year players.
Register by February 28 to receive the discounted Early Registration rate. Registration ends March 26.
Registration requests after March 27 will be charged a late registration fee and put on a waitlist and placed on teams if space permits. Shirts, hats, and awards are included in the fee. Register online HERE!
Opening Day: Saturday, May 6 at Rotary Park. Teams will take pictures and play an in-house game.

Practice Information
This year all players will have the opportunity to participate in our division skill nights, free of charge.
These nights will be at Rotary Park on:
Mondays, April 10, April 17 and April 24
5:30-6:30 pm (T-ball)
6:30-7:30 pm (Shetland and Peanut)
7:30-8:30 pm (Bronco and Pony)
Tuesdays, April 11, April 18 and April 25
5:30-6:30 pm (Mustang and PeeWee) (Private hitting lessons)
6:30-7:30 pm (Pinto)
7:30-8:30 pm (Freshman, Sophomore and Juniors)
They will be taught the mechanics of the game, how to play defense and offense, practice throwing,
catching, base running, batting, hitting and how to play each position. This program will be taught by
local high school and college coaches. They will rotate on 3 fields. Spending approximately 20 minutes at each field.

Lessons
Baseball Hitting & Pitching Lessons
Jim Stewart works with athletes one-on-one at the DISC, offering insights on hitting and pitching philosophies and techniques. Full hour and 1/2 hour sessions are available. Call Coach Stewart at 972-1923 to reserve your time slot.

Softball Hitting & Pitching Lessons
Players of all skill levels will enhance their hitting and pitching skills. Hitters learn various hitting techniques, improve hand-eye coordination, and adjust to different pitches at the plate. Pitchers cover ball movement and placement, and basic pitch selection. Each lesson is broken into three 30-minute time slots. Call the DISC at 429-3472 for more information.

Decatur Commodores Baseball
In 2020, the Decatur Commodores will begin their 11th year as a member of the Park District baseball family. The goal is to provide superior coaching and instruction for boys who want to reach the highest levels of play. Two teams (U16 and U18) participate in showcase tournaments to give players exposure to college coaches and recruiters. For rosters and game schedules, visit decaturcommodores.com.
