Fall Skills Clinic at Rotary Park

Our Fall Skills Clinics will cover everything your child needs to get ready for the spring season. Training sessions will include hitting, fielding, throwing, base running, and more!

Coed Tball
Age 3-4 / Tuesdays / 4:30 – 5 p.m.
Ages 5-6 / Tuesdays / 4:30 – 5 p.m.

Boys Baseball
Age 7-8 / Tuesdays / 5:15-6 p.m.
Age 9-10 / Tuesdays / 5:15 – 6:15 p.m.
Age 11-14 / Tuesdays / 6:30 – 8 p.m.

Girls Softball
Age 7-8 / Tuesdays / 5:15-6 p.m.
Age 9-10 / Tuesdays / 5:15 – 6:15 p.m.
Age 11-14 / Tuesdays / 6:30 – 8 p.m.

Ages 3 – 6 $40 ($35 resident)
Ages 7 – 8 $46 ($40 resident)
Ages 9 – 10 $52 ($45 resident)
Ages 11 – 14 $60 ($50 resident)

Fee includes t-shirt. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, participants must supply their own batting helmet and glove. Bats will be supplied to each team and sanitized.

Coaches are local high school and middle school coaches and players. Parent volunteers are needed for 3-6 year old age groups. Contact Erin at baseball@decparks.com. No experience necessary. 2021 Decatur Youth Baseball & Softball

Registration begins February 2!

Decatur Youth Baseball is affiliated with Little League and Tri-County Baseball and operates under their rules and regulations. The Youth Softball league is affiliated with Country Girls and operates under their rules and regulations. Bronco and Pony divisions of baseball are affiliated with Tri-County Baseball and operated under their rules and regulations. We appreciate the continued support of parents, volunteers and sponsors. Covid-19 Guidelines may affect program details. 

Important Note
Register anytime at the DISC, or online (decatur-parks.org). For on-site registrations, parent or guardian must accompany youth, and a birth certificate copy is required for first-year players.
Register by February 28 to receive the discounted Early Registration rate. Registration ends March 26. Opening Day: Saturday, May 8 / Teams will take pictures and play an in-house game.

Registration requests after March 26 will be charged a late registration fee and put on a waitlist and placed on teams if space permits. Shirts, hats, and awards are included in the fee. Register online HERE!

Lessons

Baseball Hitting & Pitching Lessons
Jim Stewart works with athletes one-on-one at the DISC, offering insights on hitting and pitching philosophies and techniques. Full hour and 1/2 hour sessions are available. Call Coach Stewart at 972-1923 to reserve your time slot.

Fee: Half hour, $25 ($20 with resident discount)

Softball Hitting & Pitching Lessons
Players of all skill levels will enhance their hitting and pitching skills. Hitters learn various hitting techniques, improve hand-eye coordination, and adjust to different pitches at the plate. Pitchers cover ball movement and placement, and basic pitch selection. Each lesson is broken into three 30-minute time slots. Call the DISC at 429-3472 for more information.

Decatur Commodores Baseball

In 2020, the Decatur Commodores will begin their 11th year as a member of the Park District baseball family. The goal is to provide superior coaching and instruction for boys who want to reach the highest levels of play. Two teams (U16 and U18) participate in showcase tournaments to give players exposure to college coaches and recruiters. For rosters and game schedules, visit decaturcommodores.com.
