2022 Decatur Youth Baseball & Softball

Registration begins February 1!
Decatur Youth Baseball is affiliated with Little League and Tri-County Baseball and operates under their rules and regulations. The Youth Softball league is affiliated with Country Girls and operates under their rules and regulations. Bronco and Pony divisions of baseball are affiliated with Tri-County Baseball and operated under their rules and regulations. We appreciate the continued support of parents, volunteers and sponsors.

Important Note
Register anytime at the DISC, or online (decatur-parks.org). For on-site registrations, parent or guardian must accompany youth, and a birth certificate copy is required for first-year players.
Register by February 28 to receive the discounted Early Registration rate. Registration ends March 27.
Registration requests after March 27 will be charged a late registration fee and put on a waitlist and placed on teams if space permits. Shirts, hats, and awards are included in the fee. Register online HERE!

Opening Day: Saturday, May 7 at Rotary Park. Teams will take pictures and play an in-house game.

Cancellation Notifications
To receive Decatur Youth Baseball & Softball cancellation/closure information by text or email, visit decatur-parks.org and click on Cancellations and Closures to register. You can also get the Rainout Line app (free in the App Store!) and select Decatur Park District as your favorite.

Practice Information

All teams will practice together once a week. This practice will be on Monday evenings in April at Rotary Park. They will be taught the mechanics of the game, how to play defense and offense, practice throwing, catching, base running, batting, hitting and how to play each position. This program will be taught by local high school and college coaches.

League practices will be held on Monday nights in April.
(5:30-6:15 pm.) T-ball
(6:15-7:15 pm.) Shetland, Peanut, Pinto and Pee-Wee

Lessons

Baseball Hitting & Pitching Lessons
Jim Stewart works with athletes one-on-one at the DISC, offering insights on hitting and pitching philosophies and techniques. Full hour and 1/2 hour sessions are available. Call Coach Stewart at 972-1923 to reserve your time slot.

Softball Hitting & Pitching Lessons
Players of all skill levels will enhance their hitting and pitching skills. Hitters learn various hitting techniques, improve hand-eye coordination, and adjust to different pitches at the plate. Pitchers cover ball movement and placement, and basic pitch selection. Each lesson is broken into three 30-minute time slots. Call the DISC at 429-3472 for more information.

Decatur Commodores Baseball

In 2020, the Decatur Commodores will begin their 11th year as a member of the Park District baseball family. The goal is to provide superior coaching and instruction for boys who want to reach the highest levels of play.
