World Heart Day HeartSaver Heroes Recognition & Free Hands-Only CPR Training at the DISC

September 29, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

On World Heart Day, the American Heart Association, Decatur Indoor Sports Center (DISC), and Decatur Memorial Hospital will “Share the Power” to inspire others to learn to save a life with hands-only CPR. The American Heart Association will recognize employees of DISC as HeartSaver Heroes for taking quick action and performing CPR on a member, and will offer a hands-only CPR training and free CPR Anytime kits for 100 members of the community. The training is free and open to the public. Click here to view the event flyer.

Date: Friday, September 29
Time: 11 a.m. – HeartSaver Recognition, Hands-Only CPR Training
Location: Decatur Indoor Sports Center, 1295 W Wood St., Decatur, IL

On World Heart Day, the American Heart Association encourages the public to learn to “Power a Life” with Hands-Only CPR. Every minute CPR is delayed, a victim’s chance of survival decreases by 10 percent. Immediate CPR from someone nearby can double, even triple, their chance of survival.
