MLB Pitch, Hit & Run

Boys and girls aged 7 – 14 can showcase their baseball and softball skills in the local MLB Pitch, Hit, Run competition. Participants will compete for a chance to advance to the Team Championships at Busch Stadium during a Cardinals game. Please bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate and complete a registration/waiver form. For more details visit

Spring Training Baseball & T-Ball Clinic

Players are divided into age groups in the full gym and batting cages, learning more about fielding, hitting, throwing, catching and base running.

Decatur Commodores Baseball

In 2018, the Decatur Commodores begin their 9th year as a member of the Park District baseball family. The goal is to provide superior coaching and instruction for boys who want to reach the highest levels of play. Two teams (U16 and U18) participate in showcase tournaments to give players exposure to college coaches and recruiters. For rosters and game schedules, visit!

The Decatur Park District offers baseball and softball leagues for boys and girls aged 5 – 15 who have experience in the sport and are looking for a more competitive environment to grow into better ball players. A T-ball coed league for 3 & 4 year olds is also offered. The Park District’s Youth Baseball & Softball League’s goal is to grow baseball, softball, and t-ball in Decatur, while providing great summer experiences for kids of all ages. Practice begins mid-April. Skills clinics will be held Saturdays through April and May. Opening Day is May 5. 

Volunteer Youth Baseball & Softball Coaches Needed

Interested in volunteering as a youth baseball, softball, or T-ball coach? We need you! Team practice begin in mid-April, and games are played primarily on weeknights from May through mid-July. All equipment and coaching resources are provided. Coaches’ meeting will be held April 5 – 8. For more details contact Cortney at 429-35472!

Decatur Youth Baseball is affiliated with Little League and operates under their rules and regulations. The youth softball league is affiliated with Country Girls and operates under their rules and regulations. A parent/guardian must accompany youth to registration. A birth certificate copy will be required for first-year players. Shirts, hats, and awards are included in the fee. Baseball Hitting & Pitching Lessons
Jim Stewart works with athletes one-on-one at the DISC, offering insights on hitting and pitching philosophies and techniques. Full hour and 1/2 hour sessions are available. Call Coach Stewart at 972-1923 to reserve your time slot.

Softball Hitting & Pitching Lessons
Players of all skill levels will enhance their hitting and pitching skills. Hitters learn various hitting techniques, improve hand-eye coordination, and adjust to different pitches at the plate. Pitchers cover ball movement and placement, and basic pitch selection. Each lesson is broken into three 30-minute time slots. Call the DISC at 429-3472 for more information.
