Zoo Buddies

Can you waddle like a penguin, howl like a wolf, or run like a cheetah? An exciting animal adventure awaits 3 – 5 year-olds and their adult guests! Through the use of short stories and hands-on activities, we will make connections with some amazing creatures. Participants will get to take home their very own Zoo Buddy plush animal after class.

Critter Tales

Kids aged 5 – 6 can join Scovill Zoo’s “book club”! Each week, a new animal will be covered, and participants will add a new story to their home library. 90-minute sessions will include animal encounters and hands-on activities.

Zoo Kids

Zoo Camp

Frogs with hair? Spiny anteaters that lay eggs? How and why do we put animals into groups? This summer Zoo Camp kids aged 9 – 10 will discover ways that we’re all alike and what makes each animal unique.

If you’re interested in a career involving animals, Zoo Teens I is a fun, educational way to learn more. Recommendation letter, volunteer hours, and training on May 26 (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.) are required. Applications are due by May 14.

Zoo Teens II

If you want to take the next step towards a career at the zoo, sign up for Zoo Teens II! Get hands-on experience caring for animals and educating the public, while working as part of the animal care team. Completion of Zoo Teens I is strongly recommended but not required. Recommendation letters, volunteer hours, and training day on June 2 (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.) are required. Applications are due by May 14.
Location: Zoo Education Center
Fee: $50 ($35 with resident discount)
