Park Leaders

Summer in the Parks

For 80 years, our Yellow Hat park leaders have led creative, educational programs in Decatur’s parks. Teams of Yellow Hats will be in 12 neighborhood parks during the lunch hour each weekday from June 6 – August 3, serving free lunches to youth under the age of 18, playing fun games, and leading educational activities.

The Decatur Park District’s parks are site locations for the Summer Food Service Program, which provides free lunch and snacks to children aged 18 and younger. The USDA, through the IL State Board of Education, funds the program and is an equal opportunity employer and provider. View a complete list of times and locations.
