Parks & Trails
Visitors of all ages will enjoy the Park District's scenic parks and winding trailways. Beautiful green spaces house more than 30 parks and playgrounds while the 10-mile trail allows walkers and bikers to escape from the urban environment and explore nature.
The Decatur Park District's Park Leader program gives children the opportunity to learn while they play. "Summer in the Park" provides supervised, educational events and activities for kids all summer long.
In 2007, the Park District partnered with Decatur Public School District #61 to add a new educational component to summer learning in the parks, with a Kindergarten readiness program.
