Decatur Park Singers
The award-winning Decatur Park Singers began in 1972 and continues to offer family-friendly entertainment at community events across the Midwest. This past summer, thanks to the support of many generous donors, the group traveled to Europe, visiting four countries and performing at military bases, corporate headquarters, and Seevetal, Decatur’s “sister city” in Germany. The Decatur Park Singers features a diverse group of young adult performers, who delight audiences of all ages with their uplifting music and lively choreographed shows. Auditions
The Decatur Park District announces auditions for its award-winning professional touring ensemble, the Decatur Park Singers! Auditions for the 2008 summer cast will be held February 15 & 16 at the Arts & Recreation Center, 2020 N. Oakland. Auditions are open to singers/dancers aged 18 & older. Singers must be prepared to perform 16 bars of an up-tempo selection and a ballad and bring sheet music in original key. Auditions will be for 12 singer/dancers (6 female/6 male) and 8 instrumentalist. The Decatur Park Singers will perform throughout the state of Illinois from May 17 - August 11, 2008. To schedule an audition call the Decatur Park District at 422-5911 the week of February 4.

The Blues & Greens Golf Outing benefits arts programming for the Park District and the Decatur Arts Council. The event is scheduled for Thursday, August 18 at the Hickory Point Golf Course.
