Music resonates with the Decatur Park District. Our award-winning, nationally renowned musical venues unlock the imagination. That’s because youth can tune up their musical talent with the Greater Decatur Youth Band and Best of Summer Stock. Young Adults will stay on key as they reach for the stars with the Decatur Park Singers and Young Park Singers. Adults can inspire their imagination with the Greater Decatur Chorale.
The Park District’s tradition of excellence in arts provides top-quality musical showcases to our community. In 1999, the Decatur Park District received the Governor's Award for the Arts from Illinois Arts Council, the only Park District to receive this recognition twice. In 1998, the Decatur Park Singers received a Presidential Citation from the Illinois Association of Park Districts.
