The Decatur Park District affords youth and adults a wonderful opportunity to experience award-winning arts programs. The Park District twice received the Dottie Mullen Arts and Humanities Award, the most prestigious honor in the arts field, making Decatur the only Park District in the nation to receive this distinction.

From music to theatre, the Park District’s programs provide quality visual and performing arts opportunities for the community. So, whether a child is making her stage debut in "Suessical the Musical," a college student is reaching for the stars with the Decatur Park Singers, or an adult is sharing his vocal talent in the Greater Decatur Chorale, the Park District’s arts programming provides lasting experiences for kids of all ages.

The Decatur Park District believes that the arts can make an invaluable and unique contribution to the educational process and to the enrichment of an individual's life.  The Decatur Park District is dedicated to stimulating the imaginations of the young and the young at heart by offering educational and performing opportunities for individuals, aged preschool to adult.
